Inscribed within this black volume are the secrets of forgotten aeons, tales long untold and the mysteries of things unseen by human eyes. Terror, wonder and revelation await all who gaze upon its dark pages. Open it if you dare...

NOTE: DARK WISDOM FORMAT CHANGE

Effective April 2008, Dark Wisdom magazine is being reorganized, and the quarterly print publication will be discontinued. Starting in 2009, Dark Wisdom will be released as an annual anthology. In addition, the Dark Wisdom website will be restructured, launching in late 2008 as an online magazine.

Dark Wisdom and the Elder Signs Press (ESP) book line have both grown over the past few years, and ESP has decided to focus its attention and efforts on the continued growth of its book lines.

As a result of this change, all subscribers will be refunded for any remainder left on their subscriptions. Dark Wisdom will not be transferring subscriptions to another publication or selling its subscription list since we do not feel this is the best solution for the customer.

As of April 6, 2008, all Dark Wisdom submissions have been released from consideration. Those who wish to keep stories under consideration for the online magazine and anthology may do so, but are also free to submit elsewhere simultaneously.

Those authors with accepted submissions are free to withdraw their works for submission elsewhere, or they may submit the stories elsewhere and leave them for consideration in the Dark Wisdom anthology series. All authors with accepted submissions for the magazine will be notified within six months of which volume of the anthology their story will be placed. Due to the vast number of submissions, some stories may have to be dropped. Authors who do not receive notification of placement in a Dark Wisdom anthology within six months will not be included in the anthology. We regret having to drop any stories and will do our best not do so.

Because of address and email changes, Dark Wisdom Magazine is placing the six month time limit on all notifications to prevent missed or lost Reponses. This is being done for the benefit of the submitters.

Pay rates for the online magazine/anthology will remain the same. Updated submission guidelines will be posted on the website in the near future.

Subscribers can email refunds@darkwisdom.com and select a store credit, PayPal refund (please provide PayPal address), or check (please provide most current mailing address). ESP does not keep credit cards on file, so overseas customers without a PayPal account who do not wish to receive store credit, as well as those with lifetime subscriptions, can contact Deborah Jones directly ( deborahjones@darkwisdom.com ) to discuss refund options.

Subscribers will also be notified via direct mail, and will receive a form that can be filled out and returned to Elder Signs Press should they prefer this option to e-mail.

As we will have a great deal of subscription refunds to process, we do appreciate your patience as we get refunds out to subscribers as quickly as we can.

Thank you for your supporting Dark Wisdom over the years, and we look forward to your continued support of Dark Wisdom in its new format.

"Dark Wisdom is a feast of the macabre and fantastic, showcasing both top names and those on their way there."
- Ramsey Campbell

"[Dark Wisdom] magazine looks splendid - a boldly realized forum for visionary fiction."
- A. A. Attanasio

"DARK WISDOM is one of the sharpest looking and best edited products of the small press I've seen in years. All it took was one look at the thing for me to get hooked, and wriggling free would be downright painful."
- Stephen Mark Rainey

“...The editors are to be commended for the magazine’s content and its highly innovative, classy design and layout. If all editors published in this format, everyone’s home library would be a stand-out. Given the caliber of the work this newest issue contains, talented people from around the world must be fighting tooth and nail for a share of the page space in this beauty.”
- Expressions Magazine, December 2004
