Book of Dark Wisdom Bookmark Contest (Closed)

To celebrate our upcoming anniversary, Book of Dark Wisdom is running a contest. It is free to enter, although we ask for no more than two submissions per person. The winners receive 50 bookmarks, $20.00 cash, and 5 copies of the anniversary issue.

Rules:

Artwork:
Size: 1.75 inches wide by 7 inches length

We are searching for color artwork that best represents the magazine's style. The artwork must be evocative of dark fiction and must have space somewhere for "Book of Dark Wisdom" and "the magazine of dark fiction," as well as space at the bottom for our website, copyright and logo. Expect the artwork to be cropped and overlaid with text. But free space for text is always an advantage. We do not want the text to be difficult to read. The artwork appears on the front of the bookmark, and will have a glossy coating.

Prose/Poetry/Quotes:
On the back of the bookmark we are looking for 66 words or less or original prose, poetry or quotes that best capture the spirit of the magazine. When submitting text for the back cover, please clearly state if the work is original or a quotation -- quotes should be accompanied with an author's name and work from which it is cited.

How to Submit:

Make sure the subject for contest submissions is "Bookmark Contest." Without this there is a chance it will be lost.

The bookmarks included in issues #5 or #6 are examples of what we are looking for. But most any bookmark of similar dimensions will work as an example.

Grab your pens, pencils, laptops, voice recognition palm computers, or telepathic recording devices, it’s time for the Book of Dark Wisdom Fiction contest! Pick up the latest issue of Dark Wisdom (issue #4) and write a 2000 word or less fiction story pertaining to the image that appears on page 9, and send it to us. You could see your story in an upcoming issue of Book of Dark Wisdom!

The Book of Dark Wisdom Cryptogram Contest

Test your skills at Cthulhu Haiku poetry in our Chtulhaiku contest!

Book of Dark Wisdom is looking for a few good (or bad) haikus.  Send us your haiku poetry that involves the Cthulhu mythos.  They can be funny, serious, or just plain scary.  The winning haiku will be published in Book of Dark Wisdom!  The winner will also receive a mug from our Cafe Press store, similar to the mug on the left, but with your very own winning Cthulhaiku emblazoned boldly upon it!

Two runners-up will have their Cthulhaikus published in Book of Dark Wisdom.

All Cthulhaikus will be reviewed by our multi-eyed, amorphous panel of Shoggoth judges to determine if they are of sanity-shattering quality, else they will be consumed.
